“I know it’s silly and stupid,” I said.
He said, “No, it’s not.”
He bought me four cans of Blue Ice and we were sitting on the PHAN steps in UP.
I said, “Who the heck am I supposed to marry now when he got married? To a girl a year younger than I am!”
I was 19.
Before I met the man I wanted to marry, I was just telling my friends, “It’s stupid to think that you know the man you will marry the moment you see him! Romance novels crap!”
That night I met him.
I was in high school: he told me to go to college and enjoy being young and when I‘ve had enough, he’ll be there.
Later on the friend who bought me the beer became my boyfriend.
