What I DOn't Like About BEEs and BIZ

...was beginning to despise the World of WORD for it has become NOise...

joined the Everyday World to be away from all that who-'la-'ba-loo for a year and four months, have been seeing that people lack even the most basic skills in language--- that very base crafting of words so as to express one's self--- in order to get a job for the most basic of basics: food, rent, electricity, water, and all the other papers that say one exists.

...A job that should have been theirs IF ONLY...

ENGLISH TEACHERS in High School or College taught them well. IF ONLY THEY LEARNED well. IF ONLY THEY KNEW AND UNDERSTOOD what they know and understand NOW. Most of these people have not even graduated from college, some barely out of high school, and some have become redundant because of age or life.

...The School Of The Academe Is Going Deaf And Blind...

Can't believe that some of those who end up in this mill are college graduates. Can’t believe that in some universities like The Oblation, college kids submit essays in bullet points…Can’t blame teachers either because their salaries suck and their energy gets sucked out by department politics…

…ADVOCACY: THY NAME IS BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN SCHOOL AND JOBS IN CORPORATE WHOREDOM…And on the First Day of the Four-Day-Reprieve, on a HAPPY MONDAY ...WHAT IS HAPPY MONDAY?

...From what was understood, Mikael Co last night said that it all began because a bunch of guys liked to write poetry and some other things and wanted to write poetry and some other things and liked talking about writing poetry and some other things and living through some other things…

...From Half Of The Promotor, Joel Toledo, Happy Monday is about providing a venue for all people who want to read what they've written--- poetry or some other things. Which is good, because in the past four years, watched those becoming Might Be Standards and Future Oldies begin their things... Like his Chiaroscuro (which was misspelled one time) or Long Lost Startle...

...Like Angelo Suarez's performance that has become other things and Adam David's El Bimbo performance that has become various things, and Chingbee Cruz's Elsewhere Held And Lingered (which Gay God(dess) called "Scandalous!" tipped the Bunny Ears) before it became a book. Or Larry Ipil's Paradise Village before it became a book of the Highest Hiding Place, or the Bananaman's poetry which became Joseph Saguid's Kantilaho, or even Carlomar Arcangel Doana which became the Fashionista's Book of Enlightment... Unto...

...The college kids from Ateneo's Heights and University of Sto. Tomas' Tomasian. Or even tough La Salle traveling all the way from Taft, and even nearby Miriam's new Lanai. And the Fellows Of Whatever Workshops showcasing their things...

...Like that age bracket of Easy Fagela and Ed Geronia doing their performance poetry after work, or even Lourd and Khavn when there’s time for these things...

...The future of the Word winning awards and some other things...Like being your teachers or future members of literary departments…Or editors…

…And now, a lot of the young guns cocking and shooting their hipster slamming and rapping and trying to find their own things...

What else is Happy Monday? It proclaims that it has no exclusivity clause. Nor is it Joel Toledo’s way of tooting his ego, as he had denied in exasperation several times. It is an opportunity:

For anybody who’s interested in these things like poetry or some other things to keep on doing their things.

For writers to launch and re-launch their books since some publishers are too poor or too cheap to do so, like with what happened to Carljoe Javier’s And The Geek Shall Inherit The Earth.

For the regional brothers and sisters in the word to strut their stuff when they’re in the big bad mechanized jungle of Manila.

For visiting Fil-Am or foreigner fellows to see that the Philippines is not in the backwoods of the Word, fo sho, and see poets like Patrick Rosal actually break-dance... Now that was hot...

For strangers to meet and greet and end up friends, and friends made strangers by time to meet and greet and stay friends.

For some to hook-up, yeah, and get broken-hearted, yeah.

And for these writers to get drunk and find solutions to their writers’ blocks.

BEEN WATCHING, AND LISTENING, AND RECORDING THESE THINGS FOR FOUR YEARS NOW, EVEN THE NOISE OF LITERARY EGOS AND POLITICS…Which is really such a fucking turn-off…

But normal, it seems, in these things. Well, WRITERS: EGOS: WRITING IS AN ACT OF EGO. Let us talk…

…About who is whose Father or Mother or Daughter or Son or Protégé or Progenitor or Heir(ess) Apparent or Adopted or Alien Children or Aliping Sagigilid...

...And who is killing whom and who is being beaten by whom and who is being beaten right back in all these noise in Facebook Threads or Whoever Else’s Universe Threads …

…Powers-That-Be, Senior Citizenry all have their own quarrels and…

…No, no, there is no talking because the noses are all up in the air…Like dicks being bigger than others or claws sharper than others or tentacles being longer than others or tongues that would wag faster than others…

…Everyone’s capable of being evil amid all that good wango-jango…

…The Internet is a web Of Trash and Noise… It’s good to be in a cave sometimes…

In the meantime, where are the published works on paper or online?

…Let us talk about why anthologies or whatnot need now to be online…

…Let us talk about how we could change the Status Quo and NOT be the next generation of the Old Boys Club or Coven or Cliques Or Pang Emergency Gimmicks or Barkadoodles…

…What the hell now is the Status Quo…

…Let us talk about how we are all plagiarists because nothing really new is ever written because it’s all a hybrid or synthesis or influence or re-writing of the same old things since the time of myths… We do try…

…And if you didn’t know that: Well, there’s the village of idiots. Sign up, idiot. Be the Village Idiot Savant! (Beep! Beep! That’s not you DominiqueCimafranca.)

What then is to dismiss? You don’t pay attention to tattles and tantrums of kids and old folks. Because you do what you have to do--- which is work whatever job you have and take care of whom or what should be taken care of--- and work so that there are writing spaces and honest reviews and encourage darlings and dudes who haven’t been writing.

Punyeta to the issues. Kawalang gana. Kawalan ng pasensya cookies. Yun lang, for short, Pack it sa Earth.
